computer Can I transfer my license to a new computer?Yes! You can manage your device activations through the Customer Portal. From there you can view all activated devices, deactivate devices you no longer use, and free up activation slots for new machines.
Multi-device licenses (Personal Pro: 5 devices, Business Pro: 10 devices) allow simultaneous activations across multiple machines. -
wifi_off Do I need internet to use EtherView?Personal Tier: Requires internet for initial activation and periodic check-ins (every 15 days). Your license key is stored locally, but the app will need to verify with our server periodically.
Business Tier: Supports full offline activation using cryptographically signed license files (.lic). Perfect for air-gapped military networks, secure government systems, or machines without internet access.
How Offline Activation Works:- Generate your Device Hardware ID in EtherView on your offline computer
- Transfer the Hardware ID to an online system (via USB drive, paper, etc.)
- Visit the Offline Activation Portal to generate a signed .lic file
- Transfer the .lic file back to your offline computer
- Import the .lic file in EtherView to activate — works for the entire license term!
